Rob Giampietro

Rob Giampietro is a designer, writer, and teacher. Rob has worked as a designer at Winterhouse, Pentagram, The New York Times Magazine, and Hearst Publications. From 2003 to 2008, he was co-founder and principal of the award-winning design studio Giampietro+Smith, whose clients included Gagosian Gallery, the United Nations, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS TB & Malaria, and the NYC2012 Olympic Bid. As a writer, his commentary on design and visual culture has appeared in BusinessWeek, CNBC, NPR, The New York Times, Design Observer, Dot Dot Dot, Emigre, and more. He has given lectures for the Type Director’s Club, AIGA/NY, University of Texas at Austin, and the New Museum. Rob was Vice President of AIGA/NY’s Executive Board for 2008-2009. He is a graduate of Yale University.
