Barbara Glauber is the principal of Heavy Meta, a graphic design studio based in New York. In 1993, she curated the exhibition Lift and Separate: Graphic Design and the Quote Unquote Vernacular at the Cooper Union and edited the accompanying publication. She served as the chair for the eighteenth-annual American Center for Design 100 Show and is a founding partner of the Smoking Gun website. Occasionally, she works as a creative director on large-scale projects with the Brand Integration Group of Ogilvy & Mather. Her work is in the collection of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and has won numerous awards. In 1984, she received a BFA from SUNY Purchase and in 1990, an MFA from California Institute of the Arts. She teaches at Yale University.
